This year started with a whimper and then a bang ! Whimper- I was commissioned to create a painting and when it was finished I went to give the painting to the supposed new owner and they turned it down saying that they did not see it in their mind as how I had painted it. That has created a lesson for me- Have the prospective client sign a contract and pay half up front. I got nothing and wasted (even though I got to paint and learn a new technique ) 8 hours of my time! the following weekend I met up with a very old friend ( known him for 54 years) and after having dinner , walking along the street I came acrossed a couple whose dog I had painted a year ago and never got their information , I was ecstatic that I found them and showed them the painting ( saved on my phone) they loved it so I gave them my card and told them to contact me about purchasing it ! That made my night !

So just remember that the bad always comes with the good somehow, somewhere! Have a great new year and be kind to each other !
